About company
Igmat, d.d. is the biggest private owned Institute registered for testing and certification of building materials. It employs 49 highly qualified experts with long-term experience. Our central laboratory is located in Ljubljana and there are smaller labs located on all major construction sites around the country. We started more than 50 years ago and have developed into an independent, highly qualified institution for building materials quality control and civil engineering. Our accreditation is SIST EN ISO/IEC 17025 and SIST EN ISO/IEC 17065. Moreover, we are a notified body for Construction Products Directive of the Council of Europe.

Certification basis
In the light of our business policy, Igmat is actively involved in the economy conditions and certification requirements of construction products after the entry of Slovenia in the European Union. We did our best and upon the proposal of the Ministry of the Economy of the Republic of Slovenia, were in March 2004 nominated by the European Commission as a notified body for the Construction Products Directive (CPD, 89/106/EEC). The number of our nomination is 1373. This granted IGMAT the authority to award certificates on conformity of the factory production control according to system 2+.

Research and development
An investment into research and development presents an important part of Igmat‘s strategy. Consequently, a significant part of our sources is being spent for purchasing, maintaining, and updating of our high-quality testing equipment and education of our employees. We actively participate in various national and international scientific projects, prepare high quality research papers based on our own experimental work which are published into world`s leading scientific papers from this field, cooperate with faculties and other national and international research organizations, prepare research projects for national and international customers, etc. Our employees which are members of our Igmat Research Team formed at Slovenian Research Agency are among world`s leading researchers and professionals in the field of testing building materials. We actively participate in almost all national and many international scientific and professional conferences, symposiums, and workshops dealing with testing of cement based materials and are active members of various national and international scientific organizations.
